We are a highly collaborative Trust. All our schools share their journey, skills and expertise with others in the partnership. We want each school to become a centre of excellence which disseminates good practice and promotes a self-sustaining culture of aspiration.
Cambridge Academic Partnership aims to ensure that all our schools have access to high quality support and challenge. We help them to raise standards through outstanding leadership, high quality teaching and learning, innovative curriculum development, excellent use of assessment tools and rigorous data monitoring.
We encourage leadership that recognises that people are at the heart of its success and that school leadership can be exercised by all members of its community. We want our leaders to be confident, creative and innovative as they are the key to developing consistently good and outstanding schools.
Working with partner organisations, our teaching school alliance and through school-to-school support we create an excellent framework for improvement. We encourage our leaders and governors to become ‘system leaders’ within local and national networks.
We want all the schools in our Trust to be on a journey to Outstanding, and have put in place a range of Trust-wide structures to support every school. In addition every year the Executive Board agrees a MAT Improvement Plan which prioritises resources to areas most in need of improvement.
All local Governing Bodies take place in a peer review process, so that best practice can be shared and priorities for improvement identified. The MAT Chair is a National Leader of Governance.
We are fortunate to have an exceptionally experienced group of senior and middle leaders able to provide coaching, mentoring and leadership development across the Trust. The Chief Executive is a National Leader of Education and Specialist leaders of Education operate across the group of schools.
We operate a Trust-wide professional development programme for all staff. In-house courses have an opportunity to gain accreditation through Cambridge International Qualifications and ultimately to a Masters qualification delivered by University College London at our Parkside campus.
Train to Teach
We offer a range of routes into teaching including PGCE courses as School Direct. The MAT is active in promoting the Trust as a great place to work, so that the schools benefit form a high calibre workforce.
Our most successful school, Parkside Community College, is among the top 5% of schools nationally, and the strategies employed successfully in the school are shared across the Trust to raise achievement at Coleridge and now Trumpington.
