I have been the Global HR Director for The British Council since May 2013.
A Botany and Zoology graduate, I have had a wide-ranging career encompassing teaching, chartered surveying, management consultancy and corporate social responsibility. My last executive role was as the Corporate Responsibility Director for BAA from which I resigned to set up my own company working in HR consulting and sustainability. I was persuaded to return to full-time employment by my belief in the importance of The British Council’s mission to build international links between the people of the UK and other countries through cultural relations and educational opportunities.
I was brought up in Cambridge and have retained family links here throughout my career. I returned to live in the city in 2011 and was a member of the Parkside Federation Governing Body until July 2014. I am delighted now to be appointed to the MAT Board and look forward to working towards the Federation objective of ensuring all the schools are “outstanding”.
