Until May 2020 Lindsay was the HR Director at United Learning Trust, based in Peterborough. In 2015 she won the national HR Excellence Awards “HR Practitioner of the Year”.
United Learning Trust is the largest and most successful multi academy chain in the country and aims to provide excellent education to children and young people. It currently employs over 8000 staff in over 80 schools.
Lindsay was responsible for a team of 18 HR Business Partners and HR Specialists working across the group, supporting schools with a wide range of people issues, including change management programmes, employment issues, talent management/succession planning and recruitment, including leading on the appointment of Head teacher positions. She also led on employee relations with the recognised trade unions, including the annual pay award negotiations.
In 2016 the HR team won the prestigious CIPD HR/L&D Team of the Year – public sector.
Prior to joining United Learning in 2004 Lindsay was Head of Resources at Cambridgeshire Constabulary and has many years senior HR experience in the private sector, including Thomas Cook Retail, Philips Electronics in Cambridge, and the Liberty Retail group in Regent Street, London.
She has undertaken the ILM7 Executive Coaching and Mentoring Programme training as part of her continuous professional development, regularly acts as executive coach to senior leaders and is also a trained facilitator for the accredited Teaching Leaders Middle Leadership programme.
Lindsay has previously been a school governor at a primary school in Peterborough and has recently been appointed Chair of the School Improvement Board at Trumpington Community College in Cambridge.
